Who
OFAC List Check is operated and sold by SL Studio, a software studio in Tustin, California (“we”). We are a private company not affiliated with the US Department of the Treasury or OFAC.
What the service is
An information service that compares names you enter with the names on the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) and Consolidated (non-SDN) lists as published on the date shown, and gives you a record of the comparison. It is not legal advice, not a determination that any person is or is not a sanctioned party, and not a consumer report. You remain responsible for your compliance decisions. The service is not offered for decisions about consumer credit, insurance, housing or hiring, and you agree not to use it for those.
Free search
One name at a time, with a daily limit per visitor. We may change the limit. No account is created.
Watchlist (subscription)
- Price: $9 USD per month, billed in advance by Stripe until you cancel.
- What you get: a private page where you keep up to 100 names; we re-screen them after each list update we download (normally daily), email you when a watched name newly matches, and send a monthly record of the checks.
- Cancellation: anytime, online, through the link in any Watchlist email. Service continues to the end of the paid period; no partial-month refunds except as required by law.
- After cancellation we delete the names 30 days after the paid period ends.
Batch (one-time)
- Price: $9 USD, paid once, for one batch of up to 1,000 names.
- What you get: a results table, a CSV and a printable record, on a private page you can re-run for 30 days; then the batch and its names are deleted.
- Refund: within 14 days of purchase, by email to hello@sl-studio.dev with your receipt. The batch page is closed on refund.
Accuracy and availability
We download the lists from the OFAC Sanctions List Service and match names with a fuzzy algorithm. Matching can miss transliterations, nicknames and entries on other lists, and can report similar names that are not your counterparty. Every result shows the list version and time so you can verify against the official entry. We aim for daily updates but do not guarantee them; the record shows the version actually used.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do. Material changes to a paid plan do not take away what you already paid for.
